Whether by economic collapse, or catastrophic event, there are some people out there trying to educate us on what to do when the shtf. The most important thing we will need to be able to do is provide clean water to drink. There are two ways to do this. Store it in massive containers in your basement, or make it as you need it. Since we really don't know if or when we will ever need stockpiles of water, it makes more sense to me to have a non-electric distiller on hand. (If there is an economic collapse or catastrophic event, you probably won't have electricity...)
Since distilling water provides the most pure water possible, you can trust that your own water distiller will provide the safest drinking water. And you don't have to wait for a catastrophe before you start using the non-electric distiller! It can be used daily in your home, while camping, and even brought to other countries where drinking water is questionable.
If you have been thinking about purchasing a water distiller, now is the time to really consider the non-electric. It can be used on your stove top, grill, or a fire pit...or anywhere else there is heat (like a wood burning stove).
